White Rock South Surrey Stroke Recovery will be hosting the 2010 Strides for Stroke Event at Peace Arch Park (West), on the land of the Semiahmoo First Nation, one of our long-time community supporters. Surrey, Langley, Langley Young Adult, and Abbotsford Branches will be attending this Event and other Branches are welcome to join in the fun. Last year's Strides Event saw 11 Branches participating.
We would welcome residents of these and other communities to join us at Strides for Strokes 2010. Ways to be involved are:
Master of Ceremonies and Honourary Chairperson will, once again, be local celebrity and Meteorologist, Mark Madryga! There will be some Clowning Around with Korki, the "Smile Therapist". See www.clowning.ca There will be incredible balloon creations, magic, face-painting, and refreshments! We are proud to showcase the SRABC's own Tim Readman (guitar and vocals) with Hugh Ellenwood (fiddle), who will be entertaining us with their delightful music. See www.timreadman.com
There will be lots of prizes, including special prizes for the Youth Division.
Strides for Strokes is a sponsored Fundraising event designed to promote stroke recovery. It will elevate the awareness of the Stroke Recovery Association of BC (SRABC) and our commitment to improving the lives of Stroke Survivors and their Caregivers.
