2012 Reading Triathlon :
the Mother of all Triathlons is back once again.....!
The historic Kirton's Farm Water Sports Centre staged the first competitive Triathlon to be held in UK back in 1983 (competitors being asked to complete a 1 mile swim, 40 mile cycle and a 13 mile run).
28 years on, Kirton's Farm is now the beautiful Reading Lake Hotel and the Water Sports Centre has been converted into the superb Tri2O Swim Centre.
The Tri2O Swim Centre, the venue for the Reading Triathlon, is surrounded by beautiful undulating countryside which provides a challenging and picturesque triathlon bike course and a superb run course around the lake, finishing in front of the Hotel.
This classic triathlon should appeal to both novice and experienced athletes alike with both Sprint Distance, Olympic Distance and Sprint Distance Team races on offer. The multi-lap courses also provide plenty of opportunities to watch the action - a great day out for the whole family.
The Sprint and OIympic events will start at different times with various "waves" for the different age group and gender categories [typically 50 people per wave].
Prizes will be awarded for the fastest finishers and every competitor will receive a Reading Triathlon Finishers Medal.
