One of my passions is running. For years I have enjoyed spending endless hours with friends running through the beautiful North Shore trails. After Kath was diagnosed, these runs became more important than ever. It was the one place I could go to feel strong and in control at a time when life was spinning out of control. Through the years I have run in many fantastic events including the Boston Marathon and the Knee Knacker Ultra Trail race, and although they were difficult, the challenges I faced pale in comparison to what Kath has gone through fighting cancer. In a race sometimes you feel exhausted and you want to give up, but you have to look deep inside yourself to push and get through it. Kath faces these same challenges every day but not simply to cross a finish line - to stay alive. I am so lucky to be able to run and more importantly to have my sister there to support me. Now it is time to support her and all of the other people fighting this awful disease. This year I will proudly be wearing my Save Your Skin running jersey in the Edinburgh Marathon, and the Comfortably Numb Trail Event. At this time I would like to ask for your financial support by pledging me in these events. Together we can bring awareness and hope to those touched by Melanoma.

Every year, thousands of Canadians are diagnosed with Melanoma and Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer. The incidence of Melanoma is increasing faster than that of any other cancer. It is now the leading cancer in women between the ages of 24-29 years.
The Save Your Skin Foundation focuses on events dedicated to raising money for education and awareness, providing emotional and financial support to those dealing with this disease and research and treatment of skin cancer – especially melanoma.
The Foundation has a Canadian focus on the important research being done in this country.
Donations go towards educating and raising awareness, providing critical and timely treatments, and promoting ongoing research into the disease.
